About IQAC

Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC):-

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Mount Carmel College of Teacher Education for Women, Kottayam has been functioning successfully for the past years, since its inception in June 2005. IQAC has become an integral part of the Institution’s system and work towards realizing the goals of quality enhancement and sustenance. All the activities and efforts of the IQAC are designed with a vision towards the progress and refinement of the Institution. The IQAC of the Institution coordinates all quality-related activities by developing an organized methodology of documentation and internal communication. It works to enhance and integrate the various activities of the Institution and to ensure the adoption and dissemination of good practices.

VISION

IQAC aims to be a catalyst for continuous quality improvement in all aspects of teacher education, fostering a culture of quality consciousness and excellence within the institution, ensuring the holistic development of prospective teachers and contributing to the enhancement of the quality of education in the nation.

MISSION

To develop and implement a robust system for internal quality assurance
To develop and implement innovative teaching-learning methods, utilize technology effectively, and promote student-centered learning.
To enhance the professional development of staff members by providing opportunities for training, research, and scholarly activities.
To equip prospective teachers with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to become effective educators, including techno pedagogical skills, subject matter expertise, dealing diverse learners and professional ethics.
To involve all stakeholders, including students, parents, alumni, and community members, in the quality assurance process.
To prepare competent and ethical teachers with a deep sense of social responsibility who can effectively contribute to the nation’s human resource development.

To share best practices and innovative approaches in teacher education with other institutions.

Objective:-

The primary aim of the IQAC is to develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic action to improve the academic and administrative performance of the institution.

Major Activities of IQAC:-

To improve on the grey areas pointed out by NAAC in the Re- Accreditation in 2008.
Value added Certificate Programmes for the students to promote Academic Excellence.
Infrastructure development.
Faculty Improvement Programmes – refresher courses, State/ National/ International Seminars and Workshops, presentation of papers etc.
Minor and Major Research Projects, Paper Publications in reputed journals etc.
Extension Activities and Community Services.
