Milestones in the history of our College
| 1953 | Mt. Carmel Training College was established on Ist June 1953 by the congregation of the Carmelite sisters of St.Teresa. |
| 1955 | The two storied Mount Carmel Training College Block was inaugurated |
| 1956 | The college secured the first rank for the B.Ed degree Examination in 1956. |
| 1962 | His Lordship Rt.Rev.Ambrose Abosolo OCD, Bishop of Vijayapuram, laid the foundation of the UGC aided college hostel. |
| 1963 | The college hostel started functioning. |
| 1965 | The college auditorium was opened by Prof. Samuel Mathew, Vice-chancellor, University of Kerala. |
| 1972 | His Lordship Rt.Rev.Dr.Cornelius Elanjikkal opened the non-resident students centre and blessed the new library block. Ist rank for the B.Ed degree Exam in 1972. |
| 1973 | First rank for the B.Ed degree Examination.. |
| 1974 | First rank for the B.Ed degree Examination. |
| 1979 | First rank for the B.Ed degree Examination. |
| 1982 | Technology lab was set up. |

| 2003 | Started net resource centre. The certificate course on communicative Englishstarted. |
| 2005 | New M.Ed. block was blessed by Rt.Rev.Dr.Sebastian Thekethecheril, Bishop of Vijayapuram Diocese. The Learning Disability Centre, ALDI established. International Diploma for Teachers & Trainers (IDTT) was initiated. Fully automated & partially digitalized library. Community college was established. B.Ed study centre by IGNOU. Major project on assessment, identification and remediation for children with Learning disabilities in the state of Kerala. M.Ed programme was initiated |
| 2007 | U.G.C funded major projects on assessment, identification and remedial education for children with learning problems in the primary schools of Kottayam District. B.Ed. block was renovated. Started yoga classes. |
| 2008 | Tailoring Training Centre. Started open school for children having learning disabilities; Conferring of Ph.D up on 5 faculty members. Re-accredited with `A` grade by NAAC. |
| 2009 | UGC funded two Minor Projects Annemascrene Memorial Award for the best educational institution in the state by the Latheen Katholikka Aikyavedi |
