  • Adult Literacy survey among migrant Labourers of VijayapuramGramapanchayath

Students from Mount Carmel College of Teacher Education for Women, Kanjikuzhi joined hands with Vijayapuram Gramapanchayath in conducting the Survey to collect the number of migrant labourers in the locality on 10/04/2022. The survey was inaugurated by the Panchayath President. Panchayath Vice-President, Programme Co-ordinator, Ward member, CDS chairperson and Sr. Rosy Leema P. W., Adult Literacy co-ordinator from Mount Carmel College of Teacher Education for Women, Kanjikuzhi were present at the meeting. There were 50 participants including Prerakhs, B.Ed. trainees and M.Ed. trainees.MRF quarters, Govt. H.S.S. Vadavathoor, Near J.K. Hospital, Ward 12 Perumkunnam, Vadavathoor Seminary, Christeen Retreat center, Kalathipady and ward 10 Manganam were the places visited to collect labourers details. Hindi and Malayalam Questions related to their interest in learning Malayalam language were asked and they informed that they knew all the basics which were required for daily life.

  • Public Awareness about Covid 19:A Comprehensive Survey

The study on Impact of Covid 19 was done in almost 20 villages mainly adjoining to Kottayam, EranakulamIdukki ,andPathanamthita Districts of Kerala.  The survey method was adoptedfor the study.  The Study focused on questions related to activities adopted by the villages to fight against the pandemic Covid19.About 337 different responses were collected and analysed.From the study its very much clear that all villages and municipalities of the districts mentioned played a crucial role to face this pandemic and the public themselves take their own responsibility to fight against this. But it is noted that some people are unaware about their own surroundings. A descriptive study on Impact of 1918 Pandemic (H1N1) were also done. Dr.Lissykoshy and Sr.Bindhumol T co-ordinated the studies.

  • Problems and prospects of learning among tribal students at Wayanad District

The institution has conducted a survey on “Problems and Prospects of Learning among Tribal Students in Wayanad District” during the year 2021-22. Survey method was adopted for the study. The sample of the study was 301 Secondary and Higher Secondary Tribal Students.The major Problems of Learning among Tribal Students found in Wayanad District are: 86.37% of students have difficulty to learn certain subjects, Life situations of 78.73% student are limited,74.75% of parents are afraid of sending their children alone to school,70.09% of students are not interested in going to school as others makes fun, 63.12% of students find it difficult to grasp lessons as teachers are taking classes fastly, 66.11% of students find it difficult to do exercise in the textbooks and55.45% of students do not have television, newspaper etc. in their house and this affects their studies

As part of 75th Independence day celebration, Dr. Liz Kuriakose and students of Mount carmel college of teacher education for women conducted a study and prepared a report on regional history of kanjikuzhy.
